Champion Pickleball Paddle

Champion Pickleball Paddle

The Champion pickleball paddle is a traditional, hard-surfaced 2G pickleball paddle manufactured by Pickle-Ball, Inc. of Seattle, WA. Along with that company’s Elite paddle, the Champion is one of the top selling pickleball paddles in the world. Canadian vendors typically sell this paddle at around the $65.00 price point.

Like the Elite, the Champion has two variants. The most popular of these features a cardboard/composite core sandwiched between two layers of painted grapite. The less popular but more durable variant has an aluminum core covered on both sides by painted fiberglass. All cardboard/composite core Champions have black or white graphics on a solid background while those with aluminum cores have beige backgrounds with colored graphics, typically blue or green.

Both variants sport the same head shape and grip size. Both have large, wide hitting surfaces that are popular with beginners and other players who frequently hit the ball off centre. Both also have wide, flat handles that make it easier for inexperienced players to aim the ball the place it where they want it.

Like the Elite, the Champion is a reliable paddle with few known issues. Like all 2G pickleball paddles, the glue on the edge guards eventually dries out and becomes brittle which can cause them to break free and come loose. There are also occasional quality control issues with this paddle which can result in dust and other fibers being embedded in the paint during the manufacturing process.

All in all though, the Champion pickleball paddle is a great weapon for beginners and infrequent players. The price point makes it affordable and the large hitting surface makes it easy to play with. It can be purchased in person in our Calgary store or ordered through our online Pro Shop. We ship across Canada and around the world.
